My new defender has Recaro seats fitted and I found out that they are heated. However the car was not specked with this option.
The dealer told me it's not a land rover after market option.
My wife quite enjoys heated seat (strange I know seeing we live in newport nsw). However if it is not a major cost and I can buy the relevant parts and have it easily fitted I would do so. Any help or ideas in pointing me in the right direction. Land Rover can't or don't want to help?

Heated seats are a genuine land rover option. ( but not here ) As is the heated windscreen.
Exmoor Trim even do a heated seat kit for the standard Defender seats.
You will require the wiring and switch kit, this should be compatible with the Recaro seats.
Genuine Switch is part number YUF500150LNF

I don't have the recaro's (sad face), but have ordered the cold
Climate pack with the partial leather. The cold
Climate pack includes heated windscreen and seats as far as I can tell?? Maybe that's the only way to get the heated seats

G'day LouisW,
It depends on what wiring harness you have in your vehicle, it may just be plug and play sort of operation....
Or may need a bit more fiddling and wiring...
My 2013 model 90 doesn't have heated seats or wiring from factory, however I have purchased heater pads, and wiring loom, and switch kits to install when I get the time.
I would love for someone with the heated seats to post some pics of where the wiring goes under the seat box, and whether it goes into to the main wiring loom under the drivers seat (or Mulgo Ex box if fitted)...
There are lots of threads on different UK forums about the heated seats with pictures that show the seat wiring but not the rest of the loom..
Tombie & cooperrat, any chance of some pics to show the where the wiring goes please?
Also pics and details of any relays if there are some in the systems please?
Thanks,
Mike.
Edit: one thing holding me up on doing the heated seats, is that the backrest on my drivers seat is collapsing on the left hand side next to the cubby box, waiting for land rover to fix/replace seat back before taking the seat apart to install the kit.
