Hi all,
Apologies if there is already a thread on this however I could not find one searching. Feel free to delete if there is already a thread.
I am wondering if it is possible to convert a 5 seater D3 into a 7 seater. I don't actually need 7 seats but prefer the lay out options and leather seats available in the 7.
Is it possible to only use the 5 seats from a 7 seater without the two rear?
Thanks in advance

All the seats would be interchangable, but adding seats will,
1) add 80kg
2) need to be re-engineered to a 7 seater and extra seat belts fitted, would be very expensive to do.
Most guys with 7 seaters and no children(like me) will remove them(allowed if only temporary;)) and fit a false floor, this way you loose 80kg and gain some storage space under the false floor:)
I would imagin that the capture nut in the floor would be there though, if you decided to fit the third row seats.
Like this, our D4, as you see you still have a full flat area, with the second row seats laid flat.

As Barry says you would need to get it re engineered as a 7 seater which would cost a heap I would guess, there are plenty of people selling their third row seats on here and ebay but the real pain would be getting and fitting the seat belts and the different rear plastics to suite the seat belts I reckon.

2nd row seats are also different in each model.
5 Seater = 60/40 - Not flat folding
7 Seater = 35/30/35 - Will flat fold
