Imbil State Forest Interclub trip was a good chance for some of us to explore a region we rarely visit. Hosted by Land Rover Owners Club Brisbane with along with Land Rover Owners Club Sunshine Coast and the GCLRO; we had 19 vehicles in total on the tracks not including those just along for the camping at Kenilworth Homestead.

There were great tracks to explore, plenty of lantana, low lying branches & vines to make those in newer vehicles cringe, plus a great chance to mingle with the other clubs on the tracks and around the fire.

This trip was a great chance for a led recce of the area for a future trip and what can I say other then exceptional company as per usual. Campground was disappointing as the private area we were meant to be in was blocked off so camped in a large field. Nice and clean and facilities were okay but pricey for what it was.

In attendance were Garry & Charene in the black 90 puma, John & Denyse (jwhampson) with Reg the airedale in the white RRS, John (Bullets) in the yellow locked S3 88", James (53wvc) in his silver RRC, David (djhampson) in his black D3, Tom (blk635) in the black rangy L322 and Josh (outlaw) in the tan & black perentie.

Didn't take many pics but have a bit of footage i've thrown into a quick video (apologies for the audio). All driving I saw from our group was top notch including James effort in the pics :D Though to be fair we did kinda trick him into it... all in good fun of course

Awesome trip was one of my favorites. Alfie took everything in its stride even had time for a quick dip while waiting for the others. Suprisingly soft some of the creeks lol

Had a great weekend, was good to have other Land Rover clubs along with members having excellent local knowledge of tracks - keen to get back there again soon. Shame more GC members could not attend - really missed out.
James's Rangy went great (nice little project car), he had a few nice drives + happy with how the old Shorty went as well.
Also seemed like the first time in years that I have not been sleeping on the side of a hill knee deep in mud and cow ****.

Cheers

Looks like you all had a good time.

Sorry we didn't make it, getting the defender back on the road is our main priority ATM.

James really made that first hill look easy especially after all the trouble the sunny coast disco had before him :Rolling:
