Too much driving in circles has probably sent him loopy.

Very sad, but a gutsy move by Marcos to voluntarily withdraw.
I wish him well, and this is a blow to Supercars, who were expecting him to generate more interest in the Series.
Is there more to the story?

Actually not a bad move I reckon. To expect a driver to come in and re-learn how to drive these cars as well as work on setting them up and developing them is a big ask.

On the other hand Scott Pye is a very good driver who knows the cars and can get them up the pointy end hopefully.

Marcus will be there for the enduros which will give him some more time in the seat and hopefully will be back as part of a two car assault next year.

Penske didn't get where he is from making bad decisions.

I'd say theres most likely more to the story than we are getting. If thats personal, family issues etc... then he's gotta do what he's gotta do. Maybe he's just realised he dosent have the fittness for it after a few years of eating excessivly in the states and needs to get back on the treadmill so he can keep up in the longer races:D
