ok i have done a bit of research and still struggling to find sound info,
so what i need to know is in the 130 duel cab is there the same amount of space between front and rear seat as the 110 wagon in the period off 93 to 98 ? i am unable to compare for my self and hate to ask if this is a common question but all my search seem to discuss seat replacement, and i only want to know as a standard unmodified vehicle do they have the same leg room or is the 130 less and if so by how much thanks in advance. mick

Not sure about the earlier models as I would guess the panel work is the same though the seats may vary.
In the Puma model a 130 has about 30-40mm less than the 110 where the seat box is installed as the genuine rubber mats need to be modified to suit a 130.

thanks mate the puma is to far out of my price range so need a older model they are probable
the same but was hoping the older ones had a bit more space.

Mick a 93-98 130 fender has much more simple rear seats than the new ones.
If you lose the retaining strap not only is there a little more lean on the seat giving some room, but it also makes it easy to access the storage box under the seat.

thanks roverrescue
thats good to know, i also will need to fit 2 child restraints and a center seat weather i purchase the 110 or 130 so space is precious, we will only use it for camping / prospecting hence we have a ton of gear with 3 kids and one on the way we currently have a navara so it has to go its to small and leg room is poor.if the 130 has more room than the navara then happy days, the misses has her own car to do the every day stuff so as long as i can get the troop in and get a camp site and a fire going i cant ask for much more thanks again, mick

Just let me know.

thanks Michael that would be very much appreciated, if its not to much hassel ,all i really need to know is the measurement between the front seat ( fully slid back) and the front edge of the rear seat. then i can measure the distance in my navara and fingers crossed the defender has more. thanks again.Mick

Hi Mick , I can't answer you question on the 130 , but I have a 110 county , and a 110 Extreme , you would think they would be both the same in the rear . But there not , I can put one of those big Eskies on the floor in the county behind the front seats , there is no way I can do that in the Extreme ,the space is quite a bit smaller , as the rear seat are deeper , this moves them forward , It also means less leg room !!..Jim

Hi Jim thanks for your time what year is the extreme, and i guess its a standard esky? that sounds like a fair bit of room, there is no way a esky would fit behind the front seats of a navara unless you sat it on the back seat, i have also looked at the county its a good rig, but i dont think i would be lucky enough to find a diesel one, there like hens teeth, i dont mind the petrol v8 but i find a diesel engine easier to diagnose and repair problems due to thats what iam more use to working on but you never know what i can talk my self into lol, thanks again,
Mick.

The 130 seats don't recline, and are very poor for long distance travel, this is for 2007 onwards.

With the drivers seat all the way back there is 250mm to the edge of the rear seat. The drivers seat back reast isnt exactly straight up its in a relaxed position as I would normally drive.
There is 380mm from the floor to the top of the bottom half of the seat in the rear.
There is 700mm from the back of the drivers seat to the front of the back rest on the rear seat.I measured this about half way up the back rest on the rear seat.
Good luck with it. My kids love the 130.
Cheers

thank you very much michael you are a champ,
it seems to be quite large in comparison to my navara i also measured my navara today and with the drivers seat all the way back and reclined a litttle to my sitting position there was only 140mm , at my normal position of seating 240mm.
this is good news to me,
130 vs navara = 250mm vs 140mm at full extention
thats 110mm more space for the 130tdi + 100 mm possible, give or take if i dont require the 130 seat all the way back
130tdi = 250mm + 100mm = 350mm leg room behind driver
navara = 240mm leg room behind driver at my position
so l am hopeing to gain 110mm for the kids if i get the 130tdi and my driving postion is similer to that of the navara and if not and i have to have the 130tdi seat all the way back worst case scenario is l gain 10mm,
so 10mm - 110mm extra seems promising.:D
i have been researching a lot and i am really leaning to get a 130tdi over the 110 i think it will be more versatility for my needs, but the 110 does look a little together, but i think with a bit off tinkering and home made bits i could get the 130 looking quite smart.
thanks again Michael for your time,
cheers Mick

No worries Mick.
Also defender front seats are set higher on boxes compared to a navara. A d22 has the seats on the floor and a d40 isnt much better. Because of this reason the seats are further away from the dash.
In the defender you can space the front seats up higher which means you shouldnt need to slide the seat back as far. This could be another option for more room in the rear.
Cheers
Michael.

Thanks again Michael,
so the only issue for me to solve now is selling my navara, its on the market so hoping it goes soon, its a good bus and surprisingly capable and if the defender can go where my navara can go happy days, but i secretly hope the defender will go further ;)

Anybody with a Defender knows you won't have to secretly hope.
