I had not long ago brought a HTC, though for me price was a option. So I found that HTC had the best features at the $100 t0 $150 price range and the most powerful, by far, CPU. Has been so far a great phone. Battery lasts for what seem to be for ever. Had a Samsung galaxy ace before the HTC . IF the samsung phone that I had is a indication of there overall quality, then they need to lift there game big time. Very limited battery life, was in for warranty repairs twice in twelve months. Third malfunction and I ditched it for the HTC.

My wife has the samsung s5. It is actually quit good and water proof to a certain depth of you have all the covers in place. You can take underwater photos. It also has lots of apps being android. Screen is good but I think the camera is sucky in low light. Also wifi had some issues till o found out how to turn a setting off which made it keep switching between the best available signal.

Make sure you try any on the shortlist to make sure you can hear the call quality as there are vast differences between some brands including clarity and volume
For me the Xperia z3 and iPhone were much clearer than the goat models
