I have come across a 1948 /49 80inch , With Id plate attached and checked out the chassis no. Which turns out to be very early 80inch.Body at rear only exists , bulkhead and front gone but still has the original front lights behind the grill panel with lights and bonnet in good condition, still has original engine ,gearbox , drivetrain in very good condition, and chassis is in very good condition(looks to be galvanized) as well .this has the chainpull gearbox still in working condition ., What would be a reasonable offer for this beast ?Thank you

The 1st 50 landrovers had galvanized chassis's it could be one of them!!!
Or it could have had a galvanized replacement sometime in its long life
What is the Chassis no?

You say "with ID plate attached" but you also say "Bulkhead and front are gone". My 1950 S1, and as far as I know all S1's, have their ID plate rivetted to the bulkhead:confused:. Or by "gone" do you mean rust has taken over the bulkhead and dumb-irons?
So did you buy it yet? Or are you prepared to share information as to how to get at it? Any early 80" S1 is worth retrieving.:)

I did some research into the landy and found only the chassis gearbox and rear tub were original and possibly the grill.and what I meant by the bulkhead was gone , yes was RUST.
No I didn't buy it , but has been sold since.
I'm aware of the value of these landys and picked up a great little 1951 80inch with all matching numbers .I'm wrapped.
