Has everyone who has ordered a Nanocom from Blackbox Solutions had a good experience? I've read some poor reports on other sites. A little nervous sending money to an account in Cyprus?? then having to wait for unlock codes? /after sales service?

No problems here. I had a problem with the first unit sent. Posted back and they exchanged it. Bit of mucking about but so much cheaper than buying here. And that the risk you take buying overseas regardless of company.
Unlock codes are done over interweb and take minutes.

No problems either and I've made 2 orders in the last 3 years.
There is a group buy discount running on the forum at present if you are interested and qualify.
Cheers

I ordered a Nanocom from them last Thursday, it was at my door Tuesday.
No issues.
I've also got a Faultmate MSV-2 and FCR from them, same deal, no dramas.
Cheers

If you are worried about the security of your hard-earned, get a paypal account. They charge an extra 3% to use credit card or PayPal, but at least your money will come home if something goes wrong.

I would lay down good money that the only negative thing you will ever read about Blackbox on the internet is but ancient hysteria from existing self centered and scared Nanocom owners pushing for commitments and promises that I simply refused to give as a proper and honest response when we first stepped in, hoping we could save this great product that thankfully we did eventually manage to pull off with no small thanks to a good number of members of this board I will never forget. Oh yea, I could have lied through my teeth offering promises I really and honestly had no idea if I could keep at that time, but then I have no wish to be a politician :D
I am very proud of what We, meaning BBS and others, especially here, have achieved that makes the Nanocom the run away sucess that it is today.
Regards your concern, I would submit in fairness that as someone living in Australia who is sending money to an account in a foreign Land called Cyprus, could someone who lives in Cyprus not also be equally concerned about sending money to an account in a foreign Land called Australia ;)
For reference, BBS has been supplying diagnostic equipment for over 20 years now having supplied countless customers with quality service and equipment as so many have testified to, for which I give due thanks. In that 20 years we have never ever lost a single shipment or not supplied what was duly ordered and paid for. All equipment is and always has been shipped only fully tracked and fully insured.
And of course if you do have any problems, as many will hopefully appreciate, I am back and at everyones disposal.

I too will vouch for Colin Whittal.
I bought my Rovacom-Lite in 2001 or 2002-IIRC, I was the 15th North American purchaser.
In spite of an early personality conflict which was quickly resolved when we both realized we were carbon copies of each other, my relationship with his company has been nothing but fantastic.
Buy with confidence. Not only will you receive what you paid for, I can unequivocally state that BlackBox-Solutions makes THE best Land Rover diagnostic platforms. I say that after having had experience using Auto-Logic (wanna talk about a difficult company to work with!), DEC SuperScan (not a particularly easy company to work with either-and they do not accept ANY criticism nor suggestions for improvement, something Colin is not only open to, but encourages), Testbook, T-4, T-4 handheld, and the entire range of Snap-On diagnostic platforms (where I was recently told that Snap-On did NOT support 14CUX in spite of my having a NAS diagnostic platform that clearly indicated coverage of 14CUX).
Yes, I am such a proponent of BlackBox Solutions diagnostic platforms that I've been banned from UK sites for shilling for him when I was doing nothing but sharing my positive experience-after realizing the personality conflict was due to similarities not differences.

I have nothing but good things to say about them. They have been great with trouble shooting, i stupidly plugged the OBD2 in before the nanocom and blew a fuse. Also they were super quick in sending me the codes to unlock the TD5 Defender codes.

Many Thanks to all for your positive comments on this thread, especially yours PTSchram ;-)
I am by no means perfect, but who amongst us is?
I just try my best and appreciate those that realise this.
donh54:
Group buys for the Nanocom Evolution are not scheduled events or ones BBS instigates.
They only really happen when enough members of the forum, typically around a dozen, collaberate on a thread and post up expressions of interest in a Bulk / group buy and a desire to participate which is in no way commital.
With the requisite amount of interest i will step in and host a Group buy typically to alliviate secondary shipping costs and payment trust aspects.
This can happen anywhere between days after one has ended as happened on this forum or maybe it might never happen again.
Warmest Regards to all

Thanks for the prompt reply. Guess I'd better start a thread and see what interest I can drum up!

donh54, I'll be interested in a nanocom for 2.4 puma if you get the numbers. I don't suppose there is a s/h one out there up for grabs. Ian

Never been an issue with either BBS - Colin or the previous company. I have the older version and was part of a group buy via this site for it. I would buy the newer version from these guys in a flash. Colin at BBS provide ongoing support for all models and are great to deal with support for old units and software.
The older units have some minor connection issues, that can be a little frustrating, but eventually usually work.
When I can afford it I will upgrade to the evolution, but for the present the older unit does what I need it too.
