If the Kilsyth store sells it, I'll try it with my next refuel and post the results.

25% increase would be good.

Safeway (with 4c voucher) 0.30 per litre x 70 = $21; 70litres x 4 km p/l = 280km = 13.3 km per $1

Supagas 0.36 per litre x 70 = $25.20; 70 x 5 (4+25%) = 350k, = 13.8 km per litre.

The cost savings would be negligible, but the increase in range would be greatly appreciated. The figures given for fuel consumption are based on urban cycle driving. Best milage I've had on LPG on the highway is 6.6 km per litre.

Looks like I'll have to try this out next time I fill-up.

Auto gas used to be straight propane many years ago anyway. Then in their wisdom the fuel companies changed to a mixed content gas so they could make more money. Thus the mileage dropped about 20-30%. It has been this way in WA for several years and did notice dramatic increases in fuel economy when getting into SA on an lpg vehicle. Not sure if SA have changed yet. The change occured almost overnight with no explanation. My father in law was a manager for Kleenheat gas and told me of the change. Pure propane is the best fuel for lpg vehicles and they can now sell it at a premium. My father brought over my RR from SA about 3 years ago and while in SA was getting 420-450kms per tank, as soon as he hit inner WA this dropped to 300-320kms. Pretty dramatic hey?

:x Kilsyth don't do LPG

according to the website, only Somerton store does 100% Propane.

So if I'm going up the Hume Highway, I'll try it.

Anyone tried it yet?

The Dandenong outlet does it and it's only 2c/L more than their std LPG.

i have been running on it for the last 3 tank's and only have noticed better response and more power wile accelerating
But then my company car is a 1.5L 4 cylinder with 298000km on the clock and uses lots of oil and needs a rebuild or replacement.

PeterM do you work in dandenong :?:
i am just 800mtr from supagas style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif

On weekends and sometimes during the week I drive for Dandy pre-mix and as of tonight I'm doing the Mon-Fri evening shift driving for Aussie Post out of the Dandy Letter Centre.

Hi all,
Been busy lately so a lot to catch up on.
I thought that straight propane was illegal or dodgy? Not sure why just thought so.
I take that some servos actually sell it for auto use?
Do you just fill as normally or how do you arrange it?
mmmm
Am I a dummy?
Please explain

Was reading through some of the posts and came across this old one, I happen to work in the LP gas industry and I would like to offer you guys a bit of clarity

In automotive use, you can use Propane or a propane butane blend sometimes called automix. In propane you can get ex refinery propane which has various propanes propens and propylens all called propane. So 100% propane can be and mean a several things.

I Like to see some comparisons l/km results from other LPG outlets before making my decision.
