I'm just replacing the panhard rod brushes and I've just noticed that in the new bushes (part RBX101340) the internal bolt hole is much larger than the bolt and also much larger than the bolt hole in the original bush.....

Am I missing something here?? Does the bush rely on the friction of the mounting point alone??

And I just was able to measure it. 12mm bolt, 16mm hole....

My bad, that is the bolt I have. Still a lot of play around it

Perhaps you have been supplied bushes to suit a different model.
I recently replaced all the bushes in the front end of my 130, after a few hundred km I had some slack in the steering which I found to be due to play between the bolts and the bushes, wasn't apparent at first because when you tighten them up, the friction holds the bush still like you say- but that won't last. My bushes only had a small amount of play on the bolts- I cut some .006" shim stock and made sleeves which slipped in around the bolt and took up the slack. So that's about 0.25mm total slack at each bolt and it was very noticeable. 2mm difference and you'd be better off with worn-out bushes.

Cheers for the reply.
I went to another supplier and compared their bush and your right, I seem to have ordered bushes to suit a later model.
New bushes are in (after some serious wrestling!) And all good!
