MY RRS TDV8 - Just thought I would share my experience after buying a 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 from a dealer in Sydney.
Gotta say - I LOVE THE CAR!
Scored it for $30k after some haggling as it had 230000kms on the clock.
It came with Brembo brakes, Black leather, Reverse camera and alot of great standard features.
I had it inspected by Roving Mechanical out of Minto area , Sydney at a cost of $250 with a checklist. The service was great! Here's the link but I am sure he is popular on this forum.

I also found a lot of good information on this forum as a guest before I bought the car and I have to say, it helped with my decision to by this AWESOME machine. I also found some great YouTube clips that also helped with maintenance questions I kept asking myself, like;
MAINTENANCE - What are the common faults? (LCA Bushes approx. $800 a side to have LCA's replaced with labour or $150 for nolathane style replacement bushes plus labour-this job is yet to be done)
How often does it need a service? (Every 15000kms)
How much is a service? (Approx $600 with oil and all filters changed by my local mechanic)
What are brakes worth? (It has Brembos and I replaced the fronts complete with rotors and pads for $300 by myself) (The rears where just under $300 with rotors and pads) All purchased from my local brake specialist. The brakes are INSANELY good!
ELECTRICS - I have also discovered that there are sensors everywhere and when they "let go" you can easily earth them out to disconnect them or replace them with a relative cheap new one, from about $20 up to about $40 from Land Rover dealer-The bonnet sensor is a bandit for failing)
I am slightly mechanically minded-meaning I will give anything a go. I do have the backing of a some family members who actually know what they are doing as a fail safe.
MOTOR - The TDV8 is possibly the best motor I have ever had in a car! My car has 250000kms on the clock and it still pulls like a tractor on nitrous. I test drove a TDV6 before I bought this beast and while that was also nice to drive, this just left it for dead when it came to performance-I understand the TDV8 needs less maintenance in terms of timing belts etc. as it has a timing chain design.
PERFORMANCE - I get around 11-12 litres per 100 in mileage around town as I like to launch off the lights to hear the V8 rumble and I recently just averages 10.5L/100 after driving to Victoria. Great motor! Great Mileage in my opinion. I recently drove a 200 series Landcruiser with the V8TT and felt big and rattled like a tractor-The Rangie is all rumble when the go pedal is pushed, it actually sounds like a petrol V8. Recently I travelled 1000kms in a day and I wasn't overly fatigued from the drive, although a little tired for staring at the white lines all day.
I tow a car trailer as well and my RRS pulls it like its not even there.
Some of the quirks I have found include alot of popping and farting from solenoids and air suspension compressor when pulling up after a drive. This doesn't really worry me but I am unsure if it is normal.
The stereo is incredible!
WHEELS - I picked up a set of Redbourne Duke 22' rims off eBay for a cool $500, they needed some repairs but they have really set the car off from the original 19's it came with. Tyres are reasonably cheap at around $200-$250 each. My wife however likes to hit every gutter with every rim.....hmmm
Hope this little story helps anyone looking for some advice or info on buying a RRS
