Hello all,
Does anyone know where I might get one of those old deflection beam torque wrenches from? One one I'm after is the really old fashioned type that has a long needle connected to the socket end and a pointer that is read from an arc scale at the handle end. It can be read in both LH and RH.
I had seen them in Super Cheap but haven't seen them in a while.
Thank guys and girls.

I have one, but I only use it to get the correct tension on the 300TDi timing belt tensioner, as I cant use my deflecting beam W&B's to do that.
They are pretty useless for anything else, esp. when you can't see the gauge plate, if you need a Torque wrench for general purpose work you can't go past Warren and Brown, Regards Frank.

I want it to check bearing pre-loads. I have W&B torque wrenches but need something that will continue to read once the pinion is moving. I can't do that with a W&B or similar. And I think that setting up a spring balance is a bit long winded. I'm hoping that the tension wrench will do the job. If I can find one cheap enough it might be worth while. They were about $20 at SCA but I haven't seen them for a while.

My first thought was that they're useless and why would you want one ... then I read this. Just goes to show you learn something new every day. Thanks mate.
