can anybody tell me what the body number would be for my son's s2a 88" mili 112 502 L/r would be, he is missing this plate and has no idea what it is. The photo is of another 88" civ L/R body plate

PS: the land-rover chassis NO: is 243032518A 1963 88"

Mate - my 109 has the Pressed Metal Corp plate Body no. 31476 serial no. 10931476. The engine number is 90149314A.


So if you know the engine number it might give you part of the serial/body no.? I've seen a posting somewhere that describes what the numbers mean in the body / serial no. but cant find it at present.

Hi mate we tried it with dads ambo his body no 7122 and serial no 109 7122 also engine no 25134 259 C we tried your trick and did not work mystery wonder how yours worked

sorry mate - worth a try. Could be a different engine or probably just a fluke. I cant test the theory on anything else as apart from the 109 , I'm in the same boat re the missing plates.


I'll try and find that link re the description of what the numbers mean.

p.s just looked up an old thread and the body/serial number is just the number of the vehicle built - so in the picture you provided it would have been the 6,159th 88inch off the line.
