Just picked up some factory 17" rims for my disco today. Wheel nuts will be requiring a change as my current aftermarket rims use a tapered seat nut. I'll need 26 nuts (the extra 6 for the spare wheel carrier). Not sure if LR would be a wise bet to get the nuts from as I could imagine they would charge like a wounded bull for them. Anyone have any recommendation on a nut that works with the LR wheels.

I previously got some aftermarket nuts for my camper trailer when fitting different rims and had to shorten the nut shank for them to fit up - I obviously don't want to have to muck about like that again!

Have a look on ebay uk if local wreckers are too expensive.

My OE wheel nuts have started to jam in the wheel wrench sockets, as the outer metal casing distorts with use. Does someone have a solid OE style wheel nut without the metal ( plate ) outer casing ?

I bought solid wheelnuts for my D3 off ebay some years back. They are chromed and the same size as the originals. I liked them so much I kept them and put them on my D4.

I can't remember who I purchased them from however I'm sure a search will turn them up.

A firm in SA , wrecks hundreds of LandRovers, and will post Australia wide.
I have no affiliation. Give them a ring 08 83846933 .

Hi Shanegtr,
My suggestion was going to be the same as Hogarthde, give them a call I'm sure they will sort out a good deal for you. I don't have any affiliation either, I just use them quite a bit because they are good.

Shane, I have a 2nd set of nuts that I don't use anymore as I now only have one set of wheels. If interested PM me & we can discuss.
Cheers

On the distortion issue, I find that an impact socket (22mm I THINK) works well, but is a tight fit. The thick 6 sided socket bears well on the flats.
