howdy folks lol, yesterday my disco ended up losing its dignity on a flat bed truck being towed home. the left hand side oil cooler hose had failed. the rubber bit came away from the crimped at factory fastener. i read on one thread earlier that someone changed the type of fasteners/fittings so that this eliminates this from happening again. and in the event it were to occur, its not a silly crimped thing but something one can fasten and do up.
so anyone who has modfied/improved this design please let me know what you did :) my car goes into the mechanic tomorrow. been booked for weeks LOL, and trying to fix it today so that it gets driven down instead of towed.
haha i dislike automatic transmissions so much. wish i could still drive manual!
thanks in advance folks :)

I'm not sure if that is the typical failure for ATF lines so probably not a common a problem - although they do happen obviously. They usually blow apart at the push on connector at the ATF cooler. The quick release fails somehow, probably grit related.

That said, you can get Pirtek to solder on multibarb fittings to replace the factory crimping. I would have hoped that the factory fittings are crimped over multibarbs also, but I'm guessing not!

Yes, indeed.

I have done both my D1 and my P38A.

If I recall correctly the barbed fittings are from Enzed. The old fittings were sawn off and these brazed on.
