Have a MY15 D4 with upgraded stereo. There is clearly a speaker on the dash in the centre. Anyone know what the black pyramid like thing is at the bottom right of the speaker is? Could it be the GPS antenna?
thanks

Light sensor for A/C system?
Yep ........... usually called the "sun sensor". For A/C (climate control) and also for auto headlights function.

A similar question. Also on the MY15 there is a black box just to the right of the rear vision mirror. It is also mounted on the windscreen. This wasnt there on previous models. Any idea what that is?

The windscreen one is the auto headlights/auto diming rear vision mirror/auto wipers.
The dash one is the sun load sensor for the climate control.

Hi Andrew, i know the box you refer to. Yes there is a box behind the mirror that contains auto high beam assist and rain sensor. I had that same box on the MY10 model. But on the MY15 there is a second smaller box just to the right. It doesnt have any sensors on the glass side. It is on all MY15 models. The sales and service department at my dealer couldnt tell me what it was either.
I was guessing it may be a etag holder, air temperature sensor or something they use if radar cruise control is fitted maybe? It has small air vents in it. Its about the size of a match box.

Interesting I thought the dash pyramid was light sensor for automatic lights and cabin dimming. What exactly is the role of a light sensor with climate control?

Its a sun load sensor, the ecu uses it to know how to run the climate control,ie how much radiant heat/cab temp, the D2 even had one;););););)
