R 1980's RR rims same stud pattern as Disco 1?

do the wheels on an 86 RR fit a Disco 1(98)?
I was led to believe they were different but as usual I may be wrong.

YES they fit BUT up to about 87-88 Range Rover wheels did not have JJ safety humps to allow fitting tubeless tyres. It is illegal, but that is up to you I guess. Many tyre places will not put tubeless tyres on the rims.
You should look at the rims, If they have 16x6JJ ( or similar) stamped on them you are OK.
