Tonight whilst getting my little girl ready for bed I had a T-shirt with a Defender on it. She proudly points at it and said "That's a Land Rover" She then said "I want a Land Rover" "I want a blue one". I don't think she considers the D3 a proper LR. Time to get another Defender me thinks.

She actually prefers the FPV F6 to the D3, even though the ride feels very Cob & Coish compared to the D3. My plan was to get rid of F6 and D3 next year for a D4. Not if my two year old has anything to do with it.

My five year old daughter wants a purple Defender. My wife has accused me of brain washing her.

My eldest son was not even three when I bought home our new to us, second hand RR classic.
He went absolutely ape over it. His next toy had to be a model RR.

For his third birthday cake it had to be a RR. His birthday is only two weeks after his younger brother so we always had a joint party.

The smaller RR in the pic is for the young one.

My son in this pic is now 24, has a P38 and on here is LRDan.

My daughter when "very" young recognised a picture of a Rostyle wheel in a 4wd magazine and proudly proclaimed "that's Uncle Martyn's car"

Martyn (Bushie) had a '76 Range Rover at the time.

Bargains can still be found , our 3 owner 74 1800 kombi microbus cost $3800 2 years ago.

my daughter brought a tear to my eye when she was about 5

she wanted a horse.

24yrs later she has two and still lives at home because the horses cost so much to upkeep she can't afford to live on her own

I've still got tears in my eyes.

6 months old today. Loves going for rides in the 130. We're just heading out to "Steamfest". Google it if you want. Getting in and teaching him early. Don't know about tears, but he certainly brings us immense joy :-)

If you take fuel costs out of the equation, horses cost more to run than a Landrover.

It's strange Karl , no one in our family have or have ever had a Combi , I suppose she is starting to make her own decisions !!.. Jim :)

Try and find a 64 model. A really good one and you wont get change out of 50K.

Our 10 yo mildly autistic foster son tells me that when he grows up he will drive my Land Rover & he will bring his wife & children to live in our house because Mum & I will be long dead by then.
Talk a about a warm & cuddly feeling, I don't think.

My almost 4 year old when I ask him if we should buy a jeep: "noooooo!" In that what a stupid question way kids do. When I ask him why not:" jeeps are silly!" Haha. I didn't even teach him that, but I cannot discourage it!
