I have a 2004 D2a TD5 HSE. It has the very thick roof rails, see a photo 2004LandRoverDiscoverySE7035-1.jpg Photo by PaulK_album | Photobucket (http://s125.photobucket.com/user/PaulK_album/media/2004%20Land%20Rover%20Discovery%20SE7/2004LandRoverDiscoverySE7035-1.jpg.html'sort=3&o=12).

What I want to do is take off the thick bars, and install the Genuine LR Roof Rails and Genuine Roof Rail Extensions STC50034AA to keep the maximum height of the roof bars that go on top of them as low as possible for access to carparks etc.

Can anyone see an issue with doing this?? Bearing in mind that the clearcoat on the bonnet and roof is fried and needs repainting.

Also can anyone tell me the part number for the Genuine LR Roof Rails, as I don't have Microcat and use the Russian LR site for part numbers and they aren't on there??

You have the 'G4' optional rails currently fitted.

The normal factory rails are on the Russian site, in the Body & Chassis section, there are various other parts required to fit them.

Best I can do is a screen shot, the Russian site won't let you hotlink.

Haven't done anything further about it. What do you want to pay?

Hahah, like any landrover owner, minimal!

I've actually taken a different tact and am looking to get a set of aluminum rails made to mimic the full length OEM items, albeit, stronger.
