Just recieved my new Nikon P900 bridge camera with 24-2000mm optical zoom.

The zoom range on this camera is freakin unbelievable !! Need to find my tripod :)

Nikon Australia - COOLPIX P900 - (http://www.nikon.com.au/en_AU/product/digital-compact-cameras/performance/coolpix-p900)

After I play with it for a while and get my head around it's features I'll post a few pic's.

I did the 35mm (flim stock) SLR / Lenses thing years ago was younger, and when my Canon EOS died :( the digital thing was coming in vogue so for the last 14 years I've been using a Sony Mavica (the one that uses the Mini-CDRW as memory) 2.1MP camera ... it was a means to an end for work and has doubled as a personal camera for that time. Any photo's I've posted since I've been here were shot with the 2.1MP Sony.

... this is a HUGE step-up. Not ready for the cost of a dedicated DSLR + Lenses, and wouldn't get the use out of it for the cost, so this is the next best thing as I see it currently.

Lots to learn.

Looking forward to your thoughts on this camera . As I like the look of it in spec's. See how it translates in real world

Posted for no other reason than to demonstrate the zoom on this camera ...

These were all a quick casual point, zoom & shoot. Didn't spend any time trying to get good shots, just took some quick pix !

These two shots are HANDHELD !!

These next 3 are using a tripod (oh how I need a stable tripod to replace the crappy one I have now ... especially with this lens) ...

I'm not sure how the quality has suffered as I had to reduce the pic' sizes to get them small enough so AULRO would allow me to upload them ... and it appears they are now all 1024 x 768 .... they all started out as 4608 x 3456 16MP.

fwiw!
