Certainly been a wild 24hrs+ The local AWS which is around 7km from me by crow, has been sitting at ~100kph and gusts to 120+kph for the last 30hrs. The forecast has the weather reaching it's worse during the early hours of tomorrow morning.
Couple that with high rainfall and there are trees down everywhere, with all the associated problems.

Local SES/RFS/FRNSW have been flat out, our guys (RFS) have also been tasked into the eastern suburbs until 2400hrs

No power at our place since Monday night. Staying out of town at the moment. The worst thing is that the Landy is at the mechanics (who also lost power), so I'm feeling very vulnerable driving with the family split across two non-Landy cars.

I hope you get your Landy back soon , keep away from that water , that's if can . Take care. Jim .

Just some pics from the last few days weather we have had.

We have no power and probably won't for a week or two with a few km of powerlines down around our place.

Pics taken around Seaham area from Monday evening to Thursday evening.

Yeah they better not get used to it! Usually outside dogs but the bambi eyes won them a brief inside ticket.

Picked up Landy on Friday...sizeable bill. Saturday lunchtime and I'm standing beside it in the road after the same complete electrical failure. Irony is I'm 300m from the mechanic (closed) as the whole family had to come down to pick up our second car which I'd left at mechanics while picking up Landrover.

Yay!! Back on line.
I live in Avoca Beach so we got some pretty strong winds.

My house has no damage at all but another in Franklin Avenue has been totally destroyed by a 30 metre tree. I had all my 20-30 metre Blackbutts pruned last year so maybe less windage and his came out by the roots which were down in some muddy ground near our creek..I have lots of branches down but that is all.

No power until yesterday arvo 24/4, and luckily I have an old Optus wired phone.
All the local cells were out all week and even now don't seem to accept data so no mobile internet or email.
I am lucky to have a small old Yamaha generator that I managed to keep the fridge going with , but blew up my modem when I connected to get ADSL to pay some due bills.
Now new all singing and dancing NetGear N600DGND3700v2.

Lots of lines still down with about 500 metres on Cape Three Points Road from 3 separate trees, and Karalta Road Erina has numerous breaks with one power pole snapped off as well. Ausgrid currently repairing Terrigal Drive.

My wife and I were out walking the dog yesterday arvo when that hailstorm passed over. We got a little rain but no hail.

My wife was watching a TV programme last night and there was a news break. That's how we found out about the hail. Stupid drivers on the M4 stopped under bridges in the two left hand lanes. I have seen that before and cannot believe people can be that stupid as to stop in traffic lanes on a motorway. Not everyone slows down during heavy rain and could easily miss seeing the cars ahead were stopped.
