He did some bar work on my sons Puma,a fantastic job,and the powder coating was way better than the powder coating on the ARB bar that was on the vehicle..

In fact we ended up eventually taking the bar off the vehicle and getting APT to sand blast and powder coat it.

He also did some bar work on a mates Pootrol, also an excellent job:)

I've got one of his steering guards on my 110 County. Ben fabricated the stainless pipes for my turbo and I've put my name down for the next run of Perentie snorkels too. It's good stuff.

Go ahead and source all items from Ben without fear. He is one of the true gentlemen, with customer service ideals that are quite rare these days.

I have front and rear diff guards plus steering protector from APT. The items were shipped promptly, packaged very securely and of obvious sturdy construction.

Ben was 100% helpful with a few tips over the phone during my DIY fitment, and really went to the nth degree to ensure I was a happy customer. Nothing but big thumbs up from me.

Cheers,
Nige

I have ordered a number of accessories through the dealer for my new 110. This includes the APT steering guard, APT front diff guard and APT rear diff guard, as well as the Rijidij rear wheel carrier and Mulgo bumperettes.

Yesterday I picked up the truck, and none of these items were fitted (or available). They said Opposite Lock supply and fit these for the dealer, but have some excuse as to not being able to source them, despite having the car for over 3 weeks.

Given all the feedback on this forum, I find it strange that dedicated suppliers, i.e. APT, Rijidij and Mulgo, are all the reason for Opposite Lock to not have my car fitted, despite me ordering these parts with the dealer in January.

Hope other people have better luck.

I've dealt directly with Daniel (Mulgo) and Ben (APT). Both were up front with availability dates regarding the parts and freight where relevant. Both were very very helpful with advice regarding the products fitment and operation.

I've not dealt with Murray (Rijidij) but have met him at a LR event and chatted for a good while.

I'd regard all three of these fellas as top shelf blokes, with great experience and knowledge, and excellent demonstrated commitment to service. As such, I would also be very surprised if they were the reason for the delay in fitting out your vehicle.

If you were dealing with them direct, I am certain they'd tell you straight away what the likely timeframe would be.

Same as above. Murray at Rijidij was the only one i had to wait for. But i was invited over to his workshop to size everything up. And he showed me the product in pieces. It was getting powder coated and put together. So i came back in a weeks time and it was there ready to be installed.

Great products and service from all 3 of them. So not sure why your Dealer was unable to get the parts sorted for you. Especially if its a new car and they want to keep their customer happy.

Yes Nige and Pete.

I wonder how Murray, Ben and Daniel would feel if they were being used as the reason for poor delivery. I don't get it myself. Anyway, as this is all part of a novated lease, the leasing company is chasing the corporate sales guy hard.

It's a bit unfair for 3rd party suppliers with good reputations to be blamed for the failures of the dealer or Opposte Lock.
Maybe you should have dealt direct? :D

Before I take matters into my own hands, knowing that guys like yourself will do everything possible to ensure your customers are very happy, I'd like the people (aka, the dealer) who made a commitment to me to deliver on their promise and be held accountable.

It gives me great comfort dealing with this with your support, and it almost guarantees you have a new life long customer before I've even used your products! :twobeers:

Anyone have any experience with the APT winch bar? Have been looking at rijidij's bars as well but also like the look of the APT one. Anyone got it fitted? Initially I won't be mounting a winch, so mainly looking at protection without sacrificing too much in terms of approach angle and weight

Down from PNG so being having a bit of a play with stuff while ordered away

Used an Ipad with a down loaded noise meter app, so highly unscientific.
Each test was 60 kmph in third , then 60 kmph in 4th.

Test 1 Standard Defender with everything turned off, (Radio,A/C, windows up.
38 db & 28 db, (3rd & 4th gear 60 kmph)
Test 2, NKGroup engine blanket
30 & 21 db
Test 3 Dynamat Hoodliner under the blanket
27 & 21 db
Test 4, Engine blanket & Hoodliner
27 & 21 db
So you can cut a fair bit of noise from the cab by one of these two approaches, together is better, but not by much. NKGroup works out quite expensive once freight gets involved so maybe Dynamat & Hoodliner under the bonnet would be the way to go.

Quietening the engine has now made the firewall the notable source of noise, so maybe next.

I then did some exhaust wrap to the first join, the gear box temp seems to have gone down quite dramatically, but the run to Bundaberg this w/e will be a better test. Whilst under there i see engine oil leaking from the Bell Housing  and only 11000 km, so looks like an early service.

I managed to leave the cable for the camera in PNG, so so much for careful planning.
