Heavy duty drive flanges and dual finish (SVX) alloys

Can you fit heavy duty drive flanges (maxidrive/hytuff/ashcroft/similar) to a vehicle equipped with the factory dual finish alloy wheels (the same style as the svx alloy wheels)?

Not all drive flanges fit with different alloys.....

I had similar issues as DeeJay has posted about with the wrong drive flanges and the wrong alloys, didn't quite have to go to the extremes that he did for wheel removal, but still had some troubles.

If you are getting aftermarket drive flanges, get some gaskets at the same time for them and make sure that the gaskets actually fit....
Bearmach makes different size gaskets for the flanges, some of which do not fit.
Gaskets are also available in different thicknesses.

Before paying for any new heavy duty flanges, try taking your spare wheel off, putting the (new heavy duty) drive flange in the wheel, and using a straight edge and ruler across the mating face of the wheel where the hub attaches, measure the depth from the mating face to the drive flange mating face and then measure any protrusion of the drive hub on your vehicle, taking into account the thickness required for another gasket and gasket goo, and hopefully you will have the required depth in your alloy wheel for the drive flanges.

Usually the scalloped drive flanges fit most of the wheels, but not all of them.

I've had RRC,Disco and sawtooth alloys on my defender as well as RRC,stock,Disco and wolf steelies with HD flanges,all fitted. Pat

Pat, which brand of HD flanges do you have?

Maxidrive on the Tdi,Britpart on the TDCi,I have never experienced a rim not fitting because of the flanges. Pat
