Funny that the deepest water crossing I ever drove the Defender through is in Sydney! :D

with respect, slower might have been better, you need to be aware of the wake you are making also, not that I haven't done similar in deep water.

I do feel for those in Sydney that have been hit so hard.

Haha - great stuff. It was certainly bucketing down, eh? Did you have any leaks?

Hahahahaha, that's the funniest question I've ever heard Gerald and you own a Defender, which makes it even funnier:clap2:

Well Baz, it is one of the new ones with a bump in the bonnet and no vents - I thought they were supposed to be a tad more waterproof (in rain at least) :D

I linked to this in another post (so sorry if you have seen it before). Its a video of my going through a bit of water in a small tunnel under a highway on the way to fetch my son from school.

This kind of flooding happens at random locations across the city every monsoon season.

Have used this tunnel on a daily basis for years. Have seen different levels of flooding at rare intervals in the past. This time the deepest I have attempted.

You will notice the water gets deeper the further I go until a steep ramp up. I know exactly where it is at its deepest and sneak up on that a little, then drive it through. You can see exactly when my headlights are completely underwater.

Vehicle:
2013 110DC. Still reasonably stock standard. Standard suspension and tyres.

Mods:
removed folding side steps (after they were all nearly demolished by
boulders on a hard trail

raised rear plough blade (stock towing setup): removed, chopped drop plate, refitted with military pintle hook at rear crossmember height.

fitted ashcroft ATBs front and rear
