Death of the 33" 255/85/16

I may be slow, but have I missed something. Just been for a scout around BF Goodrich, Maxxis, and Crapppers; and all 3 do no longer make a 255/85/16. Rather 245/75, 265/75, 255/70 and so on. In Aus and America. Bugger.

Please tell me I am wrong.

TheBFGoodrich australia site shows it in the compatibility and sizing table for the mud terrain still, but it doesn't come up if you search by tyre size

I got a quote from Tempe tyres earlier in the year for the 255/85 ended up getting 285/75 as my spare was still ok to use.
Next time I'll go to 255 for my perentie, I've herd they import there own maybe that's why they still have the size.

Dave from work bought s set of bighorns in that size a few months ago from Jax at Bowen Hills. No mention of difficulties getting the tyres or that the size is to be discontinued.

Hi and thanks Martin, surely not for the class leading BT50. Is that thing still going, must be on it's 10th set of bushes by now lol.

Hmm must have it wrong. I obviously stand corrected as 255 are on Australia's BFG site. Gong blind I think.
I sent an email to BFG AU but got no reply as yet. I'm not really ready to buy just yet but will if I have too. Alarm bells started ringing when I could no find 255 on BFG US or Tire Rack. Then none as well on Maxis Australia. Not to say they aren't around however.
I reckon I still have another usable 20K of road, and perhaps 10 off track on my BFG muds. Disgusting price, especially when you buy 6. But the abuse I have given them, and sitting at 100K I'm keen for another set.

Ha ha, no not the bt50, they were for his patrol. Still happy with the bighorns but I don't think I will be getting 100k out of them.
