Got sent this, Bob

efence Asbestos Exposure Evaluation Scheme (DAEES)
The Defence Asbestos Exposure Evaluation Scheme (DAEES) was developed as a result of the Report of the Independent Review of Asbestos in Defence (Enfield Report) in 1991. The report recommended that Defence develop a unified asbestos management policy, which would allow specified individuals to take part in medical consultations and counselling and to apply for compensation claims.
The DAEES is open to current and former employees of the Department of Defence (DoD), Australian Defence Force (ADF) cadets, and former ADF employees who suspect that they have been exposed to asbestos as a result of their employment with Defence, for example Dummy Charge Bags.

What are the elements of the DAEES?

The letter will include details of the MHS office in your area.
You should make an appointment for an asbestos review examination with the MHS office, quoting your asbestos registration number.

You attend the MHS appointment at the time and location advised for an asbestos review examination.
You will be counselled by MHS medical staff and may be referred to a respiratory physician for further testing (depending on your medical condition), or advised to have a follow up examination in 2-10 years.
