Hey guys, I need a little advise from the experts my friend recommended this forum so here I am.
Back in January I took my 2010 FL2 TD4 up to Teewah for a weekend beach trip, on the last day I had the engine light light up on me, I took it to get looked at and it turns out sand had been sucked up through the air intake and had blown a pipe going into the turbo!! I'm glad it didn't get as far as the turbo or that would have been one expensive weekend!
I'm planning a couple more weekend trips up the coast over the next month or two and want to know what I can do to prevent this happening again.
Without having a snorkel fitted are there any other aftermarket parts I can purchase that will prevent this happening again? ie, a new/better air filter or something?
Hope you guys can help!
