This is what turned up courtesy of Ashcroft's yesterday :D (Thanks Dave, Ian and crew)

The hub gear is so I can use the TD5 on style unit in a pre-TD5 t/case.
A master rebuild kit accompanied it.

Goodbye backlash, hello increased driveability, and hopefully the reduced backlash will inhibit the manual trans clunkiness of the soon to be installed Kaiser Locker.

An intermediate shaft bush plus Maxi Drive low range gears are going in too, and hopefully I'll have time to re-engineer the t/case gear linkage.
At this point the clunky/flexy shaft and bushes will be replaced by a rose jointed rod with clevises at either end.
That should eliminate play and make the shift much more positive.

roverrescue's review of the ATB in the centre diff is here http://www.aulro.com/afvb/technical-chatter/207166-review-ashcroft-lt230-atb-centre-diff.html

A great gadget, I hope to someday get one for my '95 Defender.

Just a thought, if you were unfortunate to need towing with one of these ATB's fitted and the front wheels were off the ground, you would need to disconnect the rear tail shaft.

You would need to do that with the standard centre differential too.
