its probably stupid and will probably never work. lol
But as some of you may remember my old 44' led bar was taken off the front of the defender one rainy night.
I've bought a pair of lightforce led 215's but I forgot how deep they went and how tall they were. So I probably cant fit them on the standard bar :(
will be too tall and thus block the headlight partially.
will be too deep and have to be pushed past the bar with a mounting tab or something.
I dont think its legal to have them on the roof so thats out of the question.
I was wondering if anyone knew of any other alternatives as to where I can mount the lights without putting a bull bar or something similar. I quite like the look of the standard bar. thank you!!

Might be illegal now for pedestrian impact purposes, however my County had a bit of angle aluminium bolted to the front of the bumper and a couple of ancient and rusty driving and fog lights mounted to the angle. It pushed the lights forwards an inch and a bit to give clearance in front of the air con nose cone.

Would something like this do the job?
Number plate light bar mount...

Available from most automotive shops now.
I have one on the wife buzz box for driving lights.

I have my Cibie Super Oscars mounted on one of these on my 110.

Aesthetics and legality might be another matter. Dunno. As a temporary solution it appears to work well.

Oops. A bit slow off the mark. Autobarn do appear to be selling them for $29.99.

Would probably work really. Then I just need to bung on some scurity bolts so they dont go walkabout!

I think worst case it should. that will atleast mean that the lights sit infront of the grill

The Police down this way use them on their vehicles for the pretty "we want to party with you" lights.
Have a look at trying to mount it to your bumper with 4 bolts, not the 2 at the upper edge if you go this way.
A cup headed bolt and nylock nuts should help with off road vibrations and the "we want your lights" brigade.

Bought the mounting point.
now I'll need to drill the front bar.
on a side note, the security locks dont work on the mount I think. not sure I'm keen to have lights stolen again. specially since they are now worth more than what I had last time lol

i once had a pair of ipf900s mounted on a standard bar. they were only there for 1 month before i put a winch bar on.
From memory, there was only about 5-10mm between the back of the lights and the grill. The front of the lights protruded beyond the front of the bar/number plate
heres the only picture i could find...

probably no longer relevant if you've bought the mounting kit

Bought the mounting kit for now.
I want to put a bar but I'm not a massive fan of the ARB style look. So I'm confused as to what bar I want. maybe ROR lol

Hi Paul,
Here's an example of a 110 with driving lights on the mounting kit thing. It was taken at the LR Expo event we went to in Sydney last year.

Should have gone with SA led. I got my last lightbar off them and it was great. The only reason I got these is the sa led one got stolen lol
