Has anyone fitted one of the Diesel Care primary or secondary fuel filter kits to their Puma engine Defender ?

I have been looking at some options for the fleet of Land Cruisers, Patrols and Hilux that we run at work, as one of the 3lt common rail Patrols has suffered a fuel pump failure (we are still investigating the cause).

Diesel Care have a large range of kits available and I noticed they do a couple of kits for Defenders, mounts in front of the DS rear wheel on a manufactured bracket, kit comes with all hose, fittings, bracket etc(retail cost is $410).

Be interested in anyone's first hand experience with these kits (in any vehicle).

Someone in the last 2 months did a write up on the Fuel Master second filter option with photos. Search the technical and defender linage for the original post. Or google fuel master and AULRO and see what comes up.

Parker Racor also do a replacement kit for the factory filter. I have this kit and it has served me well. Comes with a primer pump which makes it easy to prime the system on a Puma.

Thanks MLD, I'll have further search, as my initial one didn't come up with what I was after.

What micron rating is the replacement filter you have fitted?
Also, did you fit it during the warantee period?

Cheers Neil

Racor have 30, 10 and 2 micron. I use 2 micron only because that filter was on the truck when I bought it. I bought the truck second hand out of warranty.

Cookie,

I've fitted the Diesel Care secondary fuel filter kit to my Puma.
