With the inspections tomorrow (19th) for the first Grays Perth Military Land Rover auction, there must be a few on here that are going to drop in and have a look.

I'll be making a lightning trip from Bunbury for a gander, aiming to be there at 9am, who else is going??

Cheers,

Didnt win lotto this week so no spare coins:(:(:(:(:(.Like those Pilbara Northforce Defenders. Will be interesting to see how much they go for compared to eastern taters. The eastern ones are already dearer.

Get bidding guys.
If they don't get the dollars of the eastern states I think future Perth auctions may consist of broken RTVs.
And those that are bidding will get a bargain.

A word of warning, Pilbara reg. RFSV's lead a HARD life.
Make sure you check them out before bidding.

I was hoping to be able to get some time to go and have a look. Unfortunately I don't have the time so hopefully it won't be the only WA auction.

If they had any 1 Tonne trailers I'd be there with bells on:cool: ... unfortunately they don't:(.
The only thing that perks my interest is the 6x6 Perentie:cool: ... unfortunately it doesn't perk my wife's interest at all:(. I miss my trayback ute and that 3.2m tray would be very useful with the farmwork and landscaping I have to do. Lucky I have a 101:D

Cliffy and any others that have had a look at the RFSVs today, I would interested in your opinion of their condition? To me they looked pretty rough, all with bush pinstriping and dents of varying degrees, some big hits to the chassis rails and axles and other wear and tear. The FFR and 6x6 looked fairly tidy though?

I won't be bidding on these, they don't really fit with my proposed project build. I only hope we get a future decent auction of GS and FFR 110s.

Cheers,

Hello all you AULROians, did anyone make it to the Perth grays online inspections today? I'm away at work and couldn't get there. What condition are they in?

Regards,
Tristan H

Yeah, well used and abused.
They were all around the same condition.
Lots of evidence of heavy off road use and encounters with rocks.
Body work OK and most had their CES.
All canopies well used and one ripped.

Definitely well used and abused and looking pretty rough. I saw some much tidier examples in Darwin a couple of years ago. A guy I talked to mentioned that he noticed that one of the RFPV's had only a single fuel tank as the other had been removed. Don't know if that is mentioned in the descriptions.

Mind you, I bought my 6x6 from the photo's and description and have been very happy with it.

A few were leaking deisel from cracked tanks.
Some had evidence of chassis repairs (cracks I was talking about).
Most had output shaft leaks. Most had blow by in the head (some alot worse than others).
No smokey joes that I saw.
CES was present in all but one I inspected. Even Hilift jacks were in the back along with spare tubes and hession.
One had obvious salt corrosion on the galv chassis (too lazy to walk down the beach for a swim).
I have pics of some of them but too late at night to re-size all to upload.

Thanks for that carzee! But I couldn't see any lists there for the Perentie's ? Or am I just blind?

That's what I was just thinking, not that I viewed them but going off what cliffy said. I don't feel so bad now for paying 14,509 over the other side. I was a bit worried with so many up for grabs this month the market might collapse

Still more to come so don't worry.
I think they went for s sufficiently high value that more will get auctioned off in the future. It's just that WA is mostly reserve units and not high enough on the food chain to get G-wagons straight up.
Pilbara reg got them as they will test to destruction.
I may know a little more by next week as to what's in the pipeline.
As I have just bought 3 series trucks, no RFSV for me unless I sell the d3.

Generally in the $11-13,500 area.

None of the Land Rovers in WA were sold with any type of blue slip or roadworthy certificate.

The 6x6 went for something like $23,500 I think??

I was just at the Grays depot picking some non land rover winnings and noticed another batch of Perenties in the yard. Was told there was another 6 for auction in June, then a batch every month from there on. The June batch looked to be RFSVs again.

Does anyone know where the 6 RFSV's that are up for auction in Perth this month are from? Are they also Pilbra Force? The last batch were very rough in my opinion. I noticed that quite a few of them had needed structural welding. Also some very big dents in the chassis of most of that last batch.

Does anyone know if there will be some FFR or Cargo Perentie's on there way to Perth for auction in the near future?

Regards Warrick.

95017i have seen one from the last auction. Not rough at all and the new owner is over the moon about it. I am tempted to look at the next lot (don't think I could sneak it past SWAMBO though!)

Sooo...... Who's going tomorrow?? I fly in to Perth Tuesday, so I rang up grays online and asked if I could view the vehicles Tuesday or Wednesday and they politely said NO. :( it's strictly Monday viewing only.
Anyone have any ideas on how many more are to come ?

Big prices fetched at the Perth auction today. This batch was in a lot better condition than last months batch though (IMO). There was 1 RFSV that was originally in the May auction that was put back into the June auction. It was probably the best one in the May auction (lot 6). Not sure what happened there.

Lot 4 ended up fetching $17009 + 6% buyers premium and then 10% GST for good measure. Takes the price up to around $19832 by my calculation. One person ended up buying 3 of the RFSV's for themself. Maybe starting their own army!

Does anyone on the forum know roughly how many more RFSV's are left to sell? Also did anyone keep a track on the final prices of RFSV's in the other auctions around Australia?

Regards Warrick.

Not sure if the attachment is linked but if it is it will provide final sale prices of the June auction. Hope someone finds it useful.

I think there may be less than 40 RFSVs left to sell off.

As for prices, some are in recond. A1 condition, that goes for all the variants, and the price, even for the best examples, are still half the price of a new commodore etc. Some are a quarter of the price.

And IMHO your run-of-the-mill Perentie (no power steer and turbo and winches and...) is the best assembly-line made proper LR ever made, the original designers would be very proud. The ones with all the extras in A1 cond are the best of the best.

...and the Perentie has a very big "online brains trust" as well.

I predict that Perenties at the 2098 LR 150th Annversary at Cooma will outnumber other LRs by 4 to 1 at least. :D
