Posting in case anyone else gets the same issue.

If your throttle starts becoming non responsive intermittently (particularly as it moves through a particular area of its travel) it's likely your TPS crapping out.

There's plenty of evidence of this issue on UK Transit forums and it's an easy replacement job. I'm keeping my old one as a spare (in case I flood the truck)- good secondhand ones are available at a reasonable price.

Either that or it's your Pressure Control Valve/Suction Control Valve playing up.

FYI you'll also require a pump pilot and injector relearn after they're replaced.

Hunting idle is another symptom of this issue - once again, common as muck on the Transits and cheap (Denso) parts can be had on Fleabay.

Also of note, this doesn't trigger any DTCs in the Landy, making it a bit hard to identify initially - I monitored fuel rail pressure with my Scanguage and spotted it dropping of sharply as the power died off and throttle became unresponsive.

Seems to happen routinely around the 100-150k mark in the Transits.

Hope this is of some use.
