Hi
It seems an often overlooked service item is the Idle Air Control Valve. I just happened to read on rr.net that cleaning them every now and again with some carby cleaner is a good idea.
So I had a look at mine and it was a wonder it worked at all :o The carbon was built up on it about 3mm thick in some places and the seat inside the plenum cover had buildup as well.
Once i cleaned it and put it all back together the care wouldn't idle at all until I reset the adaptive values.
So it's worth checking it on the GEMS, it's on the side of the plenum intake near the Throttle Position Sensor
