Why are they all pulled out?
If read someone else found there air compressor fuse removed and just wondering why ? Anyone know a reason or had a similar experience.

To get a new G wagon I reckon.
My fuse was missing & the vehicle was taken out of service for being defective air compressor not functioning. After putting a new fuse in everything worked fine although the hose did burst about 4 weeks later.

Most of the compressors themselves were pulled out of the 20 RSFS's auctioned in Perth over the last 2 months. From memory I think 3 RFSV's out of the 20 had the ARB compressor still fitted however it was recorded as "not to be used" in each of their log books.

Where is that fuse holder located on the RFSV? Is it a 40 amp fuse that is used to run the compressor? I have a large 40 amp spade type fuse sitting in the ash tray of my RFSV and am wondering what it is used for. That size fuse is not used in the dash mounted fuse box. Any help appreciated.

Good morning Warrick,

Yes it is a large 40amp blade fuse and it is located under the bonnet near the L/H (as sitting in the drivers seat) shock tower. Does your compressor turn on?

Thanks TK_co. I will check it out when I get her back tonight. The compressor is still in ARN 51-745 and the ARB switch looks operational so hopefully once the fuse goes in I should be able to switch it on and off. I have a hose to fit the outlet in one of the storage lockers so all going well I should be able to put some air in my tyres.

Hi,
I have recently acquired a RFSV and noticed the air hose in the rear compartment.
Where would the compressor be mounted and where would the connection be?
I had to leave for a o/s trip a couple of days after I picked her up and haven't had the opportunity to have a good look yet. I'm not very mechanically minded (yet) and not sure if I could identify it even if I have seen it. Any help and even a photo would be much appreciated!

If it is the same set up as mine then the ARB compressor will be mounted under the bonnet on the drivers side. The airline is plumbed from there around the firewall just underneath the rear bonnet seal ledge and then down through the passenger side footwell. It is a bright orange airline in mine. There is a connection point for the airline just under the passenger side of the dash in the footwell.

Hopefully you still have the compressor on board as a lot were removed for some reason from the WA RFSV's before they were sold. No idea why other than perhaps they have been redeployed into another military vehicle???? I found the 40 amp fuse for mine sitting in the ash tray. I plugged it in and the compressor turned on and ran well. I have used it quite a bit already. In my log book it has been recorded as "not to be used" or something like that. No idea why, but If anyone knows why I would certainly appreciate the information. I think from memory all the other WA RFSV's sold here earlier this year that still had the compressor on board also had this note in their log books too. From the 20 or so that we're auctioned in WA I think only about 5 still had the compressor on board.
