For those that have a Nanocom or other device that connects through the OBD plug how have you mounted it permanently?
I've had a quick look and as the OBD plug is mounted in the fuse panel it requires the cover to be removed to plug in. How hard is it too remove the plug and where do people mount it to allow the OBD cable to be permanently connected?
Also, I plan on running the cable behind the dash where is the best place to exit to mount the Nanocom on the windscreen? My thoughts are to cut a hole in the top of the removable centre panel where it connects to the dash.
What has everyone else done?

Watching with interest....my temporary solution has lasted over a year now. I velcro mounted the Scangauge on the steering wheel mount in front of the instruments. Not perfect at all, I think I'd like it to be up higher but without obscuring the windscreen at all.

I purchased a generic suction mount that is intended for phones/gps units. It works a treat

I've got the Nanocom windscreen mount but the OBD plug is mounted with all of the fuses ant the only way to plug it in at the moment is to remove the fuse box cover and have the cable hanging down. I'm looking for a solution to moving the OBD plug.

Mine is in a disco, but with the BBS alloy frame riveted to the angled underneath of the ashtray and a shortened right angled cable to the OBDII port under the steering wheel. Keeps the screen out of direct sunlight and just clears my left knee for cruising.

Maybe see where/how Wayne (Nugget) has placed his, I'm sure he has one mounted in his truck.
I cant find his other 110 thread, but it'll be in one of them anyway.
I would think your heading in the right direction going in behind the centre and up through that top panel.

Found it. He removed the speaker to move the OBD connection behind it. I've worked out how to move the plug today which is to unscrew the single screw and slide the plug down to pop it out.
Job for tomorrow to have another look at it.
