I have an ARB compressor that I want to occasionally take on trips. Can I power it from a cigarette lighter socket in the rear of a L322?
Advice appreciated.

I wouldn't, but all is not lost. Even a small compressor will draw a lot of power, more than a cig lighter can supply, but there is a 50amp supply in the back of the L322 behind the panel on the drivers side. There should be a spare maxi fuse holder on the main board in there - I'd connect a supply from there to a 50amp Anderson plug, stick a 50 amp fuse in the holder (if there's not already one there) and you can just leave it tucked behind the panel unless you want to use it - so no holes or sign of the modification.
I'll go take a pic and show you what I mean. :)
Edit - here you go - Ignore the big red wire that drops down to the bottom right of the pic - that's part of the Traxide dual battery kit (which I would highly recommend). If that terminal that I've marked 'connection point' has no wire in it (I've never seen a vehicle with it connected, but who knows) then you're good to go.

Tonight I've looked at that fuse box and the 3rd slot it is for an ediff. I'm pretty sure my L322 doesn't have one fitted. However here is a pic of the top of the housing.

Anyone know?

Hmmm, couldn't tell you, mine certainly doesn't. What year is yours?

There's no sign of an actuator so I'm assuming not. 94661 It's an 08MY.

What happens if you pull the wire from that end fuse?
Alternately, buy a maxi fuse holder and connect one end straight to where the big red wire is bolted to the fuse panel below the main fuses.

Good point, there is no wire out of the connection point feeding the ediff circuit. The 40 amp fuse is sitting there doing nothing. Come to think of it Harley might have already pointed that out.
So what connector do I fit into that slot, as in what connector do I ask for when buying?

I think if you look down in the base of the plastic connector, it is just a spade terminal. Not sure if it is the large type like what goes on the back of older style headlights or just a standard type.
