Folks,
been having discussions with LR Direct in the UK about replacement air spring assemblies for my 2007, MY08 D3.

So . . .

Front air sping unit RNB501580:
I note for the front unit that there are 7 different types available. From $245 AUD through to $603 AUD.

Now I assume there is a quality difference. From what I have read on the forums I am best to stick to the OEM LR part. However there are 2 listed LR OEM units, so what is the difference?

Rear air sping unit RPD501090:

For the rear shock absorber there are two part numbers. RPD000309 with the VIN range 0 to 6A999999.
The second part number is RPD501090 with the VIN range 7A000001 to 9A999999.

For the later VIN I again note there are 5 varities to choose from ranging from $354 AUD through to $810 AUD. 2 options being LR OEM parts yet a big price difference between the 2 OEM LR units.

I am just on 200k on my D3 so not inclined to go for cheap options. I want good handling and longevity.

What is the difference between the cheap units and the OEM LR units?

thanks in advance.

Regards
Peter

Genuine LR D3 shocks fitted to my D4 were removed after 60K kms because the ride had become floaty/bouncy. Delphi D3 replacements from Britpart were removed after 47K kms for the same reason and didn't provide the initial control of the genuine LRs.
