First fill if the dealer filled it right up was 9.3km a liter.. Not bad for an engine in its first 500km and half round town :)
My only moan is the drive line has a bit of a clunk/ play (very minor) if you are quick on the clutch. IMO this is the axle flanges so not worried I will fix them when needed.
otherwise it is great, it has so much go I over took today I could/ would never have tried before it just does not feel like a Landy, except the good bits :D

9.3! wow you've done well.... or the tank wasn't full. Do a search here and you'll see that most only seem to get 10-11.

My 90 was actually pretty awful to drive for the first 500kms.... very stiff, bouncy, clunky sort of drive.... was very worried driving it out of town (read that as nearly turned around and took it back to the dealer); thought I'd just spent 50k on a car that was worse than my 1980 series 3. After a few kms it loosened up nicely!

That driveline clunk is a Defender. You just have to adjust your driving style. Once you do you will never notice it and you will be a better driver for it.

Hi Chris,
Works out to 10.75L/100km, thats pretty normal. The last tank i measured on my 130 was 10.96L/100km and its only done 4000km.

Driveline is quite normal. You'll leaern to work around it in time. Do note tho the jackshafts arent lubed correctly from factory so they tend to clunk a little bit too.

Its pretty bad when new. now I've got 74000km and can get over 600kms
