What was the first album, cassette, CD or download of music you bought with your own money?
Not what you were given or nicked from your brother/sister, that you bought with your own saved up, hard, cold cash.
Mine was a cassette "Hot August Night" by Neil diamond around 1974 or 5, I thought it was terrific.

As a ten year old I earned a threepenny bit for sweeping up hair in my dad's hairdressing shop. The pub a few doors down used to sell the "old records" off the juke box for a shilling :)
I purchased this record first and still have it in my record box

It was either 2 Minute Warning by The Angels or The Swing by INXS. Pretty sure The Angels were first.

I can't remember the first cassette I bought but the first CD was The Angels Liveline which I bought in about 1987 I think. Still have the CD. Never bought records as I didn't have a record player.

It is that long ago I can't be 100% sure but I did buy the single Eloise by Barry Ryan.
Still love it. I suspect it was my first. Being only 12 in 1968 I can't say for sure where the money came from.

My first album. Not 100% again but I suspect Let it Be by the Beetles.

Skyhooks, Ego is Not a Dirty Word. Bought the album on vinyl, my parents were disgusted by the pic on the back of the album cover, it had a letter supposedly written to the band by a crazed female fan who'd attached one of her severed fingers to it.
