I am about to put in a coupling so that I can reinflate tyres from the air tank, but did the army put in this feature as standard? I've had a pretty good look around but couldn't find anywhere obvious that they did?

Yes they did. Been a long time since ive looked at one tho, hopefully somebody with more recent experience can help. Look for a screw on fitting (not a normal push lock) near the air tanks.

Your spot on, it is a screw on fitting, thats why I missed it, will change it over to a normal push on fitting, cheers

I dvise not changing the test port fittings removing and replacing the bleed valve on the topmost of the 2 brake tanks with a t piece, a bleed valve and QD fitting of choice.

The main advantage is how easy it i to get to the fitting to plug in.

of course the easiest way to get onto the air supply is to make up a glad hand fitting and pick up the right hand fitting.

Thanks dave, I've already got all of my air tools, airlines and fittings the same so that I can swap them between my trucks and service utes and really the test port on the mog is useless to me so makes sense to run common fittings.. By chance do you know what the army screw type fittings are referred to as? I've never seen them before

They're a standard self sealing test port, Ive got a couple of sets on guages for doing brake system pressure tests.

The mog air tanks aren't enough to run air tools (for long) and the mog compressor wont keep up with them.

If you decide to fit a larger auxiliary tank off of either of the brake tanks or the service ports I strongly recommend fitting a self resetting air valve like a yard valve on a trailer that will self close if the pressure in the supply drops too low.

or you could tap it off of the aux tank up the front, the brake system is protected from that tank failing by the four way valve.
