Radiator Leak

Hi All,

DaOot & I are supposed to be leaving for Puckapunyal on Thursday, so I thought it a good idea to change the coolant before I go.

Gets pretty cold there apparently. :angel:

So I remove the bottom radiator hose, drain & flush the cooling system & proceed to have lovely new coolant poor out of the bottom.

Made sure everything was tight but it continued.

My question:

Is there a good product available to seal this up or does the radiator need to come out to be repaired?

Glad you didn't try goop in the system, that's like using those spray in tyre sealants, they cause trouble later on... assuming they do the job.

As for the radiator, take it to a radiator specialist. They'll be able to recore it, repair the leak or advise you to buy a new one (from them of course).

Before doing any of that though, price a new one from your local parts people, just so you know what you're facing. In the UK, people never bother to repair the radiators on my MG ZR because brand new ones are dirt cheap, here, they ask for your children and grandchildren as slaves. :censored: Dunno what it's like with Landys, it's something I've yet to suffer.

Actually Cannon, that looks quite repairable, especially by someone who can braze (couldn't see the videos when I first replied). I'd be surprised if you have any problems with it.

All fixed.

Soldered up the broken pipe, flush clean & pressure test, now tickety boo.

The guy said it was in very good condition which is good to know.
