If it is an early example that didn't originally have indicators fitted, then they could have been stuck either vertically or horizontally to the parker lights. I've seen them both ways - I don't think there is a right and wrong for this, but there may be a rivet counter chime in that knows more. :)
Nice looking project - that steel roof is very interesting and looks like someone went to a lot of trouble to fabricate it. The sides behind the doors are also home made, so you've got an interesting rig there. :). Looks like it may have been a ute body that someone turned into a wagon themselves - very interesting. Will look forward to this build.

Hi, I can shed some light on the steel roof for you. It looks exactly the same as my 109 series 2a's roof and sides. It is an "Athol Hedges",(QLD) roof. Not too many survived due to rust. Mine is rusty and been patched a few times. Check out my "photo album" on here. Good luck with ur rebuild or restoration. I am converting to a soft top now with 4 wheel disc brakes. Just need to get back on my feet and get back on to it. Hope this helps.

thanks rod for the info, I thought it was too well made to be a home made job. its in great condition with only surface rust and no rust holes even the gutters are all ok. but I will be putting an original landrover roof hopefully a tropical roof.here are more picshttps://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/imported/2015/06/242.jpg (http://s1315.photobucket.com/user/kombiguy1824/media/WP_20150623_001_zpsa65xodmf.jpg.html)

right now you are perhaps starting to think- what have I done,
but it's all good, looks like a good set of bones, not too many bad dents, repair or replace the front bar, work out how far you want to go with getting her , or Bruno is a him, him going.
do you want to have a show piece? or a running truck to get out and have fun in?
I think the roof and sides are interesting and perhaps they should be saved, although not genuine, they are aussie lr history and probably a bit rare.
I look forward to seeing this come back to life.

Beautiful find looking forward to the progress. To answer your question earlier. If i understand correctly vertical lamps were mostly on military wings and horizontal on civilian. Although, this may not be entirely correct.

Nice , well done the more of us that are restoring the better off we all are!
Is this A diesel? I think it was the one for sale for a while I considered buying it, it's solid and complete so will be a great resto.
Looking forward to seeing the progress! Enjoy
Cheers

yes jb it has a diesel in it but was originally a 2.25 petrol the po swapped them out. I was amazed that the chassis is so rust free even the baulkhead has very little rust too. im time poor so it will be a slow resto so please be patient lol

Not standard indicator setup , thats for sure. Looks like someone has had a play before.
They nearly always had a TexMagna indicator control on the steering colume with a rubber wheel running on the steering wheel base for the autocancel system. However I suspect yours may be of a vintage before indicators became mandatory.

that indicator lever originally had a lamp and I think the cover was green screwed onto the end, that is what is missing, so I guess the previous owner set up those lamps on the Perspex sheet because the lamp in the stalk was broken.
your steering column looks like it has been fitted with this device as it would have been in other early motors of the time when blinkers were first appearing.
I know I have owned a car with this type of blinker lever, but dammed if I can remember which one it was, but 55 Hillman seems to pop up.

A friend just up the road from me has a series two swb petrol with a steel roof. The vehicle was ex RAAF. However the roof line on his vehicle still has the sloping profile on the front, similar to a standard Land Rover roof line. From memory I think this roof was also a Queensland build. I will try and grab a few pics of it.
Cheers, Mick
