I find when rebuilding a Series gearbox, the most important part is to stick to the tolerances given in the workshop manual, even if it means a 10-day wait for the correct shims etc. to arrive. .W.

Use 'quality bearings' rather than no-name.
Try and find a GL4 spec oil, EP90 or 75W90 or similar. Some GL5 oils can damage bronze parts.

Wot Colin said.

Britpart isn't a named bearing, they frequently source parts from the cheapest available. Ask for Timken or other quality name brand.

Don't quote the NSN if you have it, there are different (more expensive) pricings for parts ordered by National Stock Number (NATO Stock Number).

The most important parts to purchase are the original Rover Parts Catalogue and Workshop Manual of purchase the relevant Rave CD from Dave's Interesting Things https://www.davesitshop.com/emporium/manuals-cd/dvd.html the Shop link at the top of the AULRO page.
