18" Rims for 2015 D4

I was just checking out the GOE Website and the 18" rims are only for 2005-2013 D3/4. Is this correct? They don't fit 2014 on? Weighing up a D4 purchase and I would like to get those rims.

Keep reading a bit further down the page on the GOE website where it breaks down the various vehicle applications:

"These rims will fit all the following vehicles:

- All Discovery 3 and Discovery 4 models
- 2005 ~ 2009 Range Rover Sport all models
- 2010 ~ 2013 Range Rover Sport TDV6, TDV8 and V8 (not S/C)"

My very first post, so hope I'm within the topic of tyres and the intent of this thread. I've just purchased my first D4 and am ecstatic . . . 2012 with just 28k on the clock. WoooHooo.

But back to business (and fun). I have been reading and understand the dilemma surrounding 19" wheels, particularly relative to remote areas and supply of backups. Whilst a change to 18" certainly eases the availability issue, my question is now, "does a change of rim size from that fitted by the manufacturer / supplier, compromise the warranty in any way should a mechanical defect arise?".

I popped into our local agent and posed that same question to the gentleman in charge of service. He was a little uncertain of the validity of what he was saying but did ask me would I be thinking of using original Land Rover 18" rims. He "thought" that could be OK.

I leave this on the table for debate by those much wiser and experienced than myself. Do we do ourselves a risky disservice in blind haste to resolve our dilemma?

Unless you have the 2.7 diesel engine, Land Rover 18" rims will not fit your vehicle. You have no choice but to go after-market if you wish to fit smaller rims. ;)

The warranty issue has been mentioned before. At the end of the day a vehicle manufacturer would have to prove that the modification caused a failure. I think the only way that they could prove this if you put larger than standard diameter tyres, or wider than standard. I just like the idea of having a larger sidewall off road.

Me too. I have always been pleasant, even when they have made a blue. Everything i have ever asked for has been handled without question.

I just picked mine up from its 75K service. When I dropped it off I said there's a "dull thud" when I take off and it feels a bit "floaty" compared to how it used to feel. "No problem Sir, we'll take a look"

It turns out they have replaced a section of the drive shaft and have ordered some new rear shocks from the UK.

"Oh, and when you come back for the shocks, we'll do a full pre end of warranty inspection"

No demands. No hassling.

the door jam tyre description still mentions 18" wheels!!

But - keep the old rims and tyres. They can be used around town too. If there's a warranty issue, then put those originals back on the car. They're not worth much at all second hand - so keep them.
