Hey all,
I wonder if anyone has any ideas on this. We have a late D3, and since it's last service we've had an intermittent problem.
Start from rest, the car can be almost non responsive to the throttle. Very sluggish acceleration, and then it finally gets up and going. I'd suspect the fuel filter (which was changed), but once on boost the power seems normal.
I have an IID tool, and there were no codes shown. The TPS seems to respond normally too. We had something a little similar happen in out D2 where the waste gate wasn't moving freely, hence no boost at low power settings. In this case though no excessive smoke, and no over boost codes, which led to an incorrect diagnosis by the last mechanic & cost us a new MAP sensor, buts that's another story.
Anyhooow, we're two hours from the nearest dealer, and when I rang the service adviser didn't seem to have any ideas where to start looking anyhow. I'm reluctant to take it ti the workshop and pay for a heap of hours that may not fix the problem anyway.....
Does anyone have any ideas? it did throw a code a couple of weeks back, but I cleared it without noting the number :( It runs fine for a while, but when it plays up its dangerous..........
