Hi,
I have just had a aux tank and kaymar bar fitted by ARB to my MY14 D4

I now have rear bumpers and lots of bits and pieces, eg spare wheel winder, that are removed for the install left over.

I have to decide by Monday if I want to keep them?

At the moment I am thinking no but what do other people do, is there any good reason to keep them, does any one want them if I decide to get rid of them. I am in the ACT.

One other point, they did not install the aluminum plate for the sensors that comes with the kaymar bar. Apparently it has not been required. I have to test it properly to bloody cold outside at the moment. Have other people found they do not need this plate?

Pics will follow but only got home late.

Also noted in the doco that after the first 1000km you need to change the transfers pump fuel filter for the aux tank, a log ranger.
I must admit I did not do that when I got an aux tank fitted on my previous car. I didn't know I had to. Do others do this?

I kept the front bumper from my last car, a Pajero when I put a bullbar on it. Traded the Pajero on my D4 in Nov 13. Still got the bumper bar - it's now 15 years old :p Enough said? Makes me wonder why I kept the D4 bumper. Council cleanup is on soon - will I or won't I ????

Yep I am a hoarder and my garage is full so leaning towards NO.

The spare wheel winder may be useful to to some one if theirs is broken I guess.

Not sure what else is there.

Do you tow a camper trailer or caravan???.
May be worth seeing if the D4 fueltank can be fitted to the trailer chassis, assuming you have the capacity in your GVM to do so.

Andrew,
I do tow a van. Not a biggy though.

The tank I had was an aux tank not a replacement. So no tank left over just bits and pieces from removing spare wheel from underneath.

Interesting.
How many litres is the aux tank and how much(aprox)????
Didnt know there was an alternative to fitting a larger tank.

It is a big bloody thing, how much did you get for it?

It will be a pain picking it up as will need a trailer.

Andrew,
It is a long ranger one. I think it is an extra 104 litres.
Cost $1700 plus fitting plus a full tank

Aux = Additional ;)

There are no larger tanks available to fit in the original position.
Pity although they would definitely affect the ramp over angle.
All Auxiliary tanks on the market replace the spare wheel location with the tank.

I was following a D3 V8 HSE recently,it clearly had a custom tank, all in one.Didnt look like it would be of any help off-road,hanged quite low.
It had WA country numberplates.

Havent looked under the bum of a long range tank on these machines.I knew one brand needed a transfer pump and one doesnt.
Thanks

$250,it fitted in a D2,with the middle row of seats down, had crush cans, etc with it.

I also have a D4 front bumper under the house with all the pieces, but it isn't brand new.I will get around to getting rid of it one day.

Ok Andy, the standard tank is just in front of the rear wheels on the drivers side 86 odd ltrs is the stated size.

There are a couple of different size Aux tanks from a 80ltr Dolium, 104ltr Long Ranger through to the 120ltr Brown Davis.

Hi Scarry,
I'm with you, I kept the bits from the rear bar, long range tank and the bull bar for about five years, got fed up and put them on Gumtree, gone over the weekend, got a couple of cartons and a bottle of Malibu out of it. Free advertising and a couple of pictures.....easy

wbowner, I would take the winder however I'm a bit far away to drive over and pick it up. The tyre house screwed mine up when the rewound it without the spare wheel on it, good things those battery driven impact guns......... not

If you pay the freight I will send to you. I would have to make sure I had all the bits and can't grantee they did not reck it during removal.

Let me know asap as I have to let them know by Monday.
