Hi Guys,

looking to get some more height out of my vehicle and wondering what is the best way to do this and preferably a much cheaper option. Also I'm looking at getting new tyres and rims if needed. I don't exactly know what tyres i will get the best out of and I do a lot of beach driving if I could get some tyre names/brands that would help out that would be great.

I have a Land Rover D3 with airbag suspension. I have heard GOE Rods are an option I'm just unaware of how safe these are for my vehicle and are they going do damage anything else in my vehicle. Any advice would be much appreciated.

You need one of these, in car control, easy to use.

Ashley, best and cheap don't always go together :) But I think there is certainly two very good options available to you, namely GOE rods and Llams.

Both are safe, easy to use and won't do any harm, unless you over use the extended height setting for too long at high speed. Shorten life of CVs and/or other suspension components.

In my opinion, you can't really go wrong with either system if used as intended, which is offroad.

For tyres, best thing is to have a search on here. There's been lots of threads over the last few months on tyres in particular. It obviously depends a lot on what wheel size you have now or are considering for future and the mix of driving you do.

Bridgestone D697s have a lot of fans on this forum and I'm certainly very happy so far. But there's other options, especially if beach is your main interest.

Llams or GOE... I have Llams because its in cab design suits my use far better (integrated not manual).

For beach use.. Look at Hankook.. Cheaper and more than capable..

For a stronger tyre - D697 Duellers..

Dont be cheap with what you do on the D3.. You'll end up spending more in the long run...

I'm a LLams person but GOE works. 95% or less of the time I am at normal height and it is only some very extreme spots where the extra ground clearance is really needed. Good tyres for the beach? any of them which deflate and balloon out well which is most you can put on our D3s in 18 or even better on 17 inch rims.

I see you're only new here, and probably don't know what GOE(Green Oval Experience) is exactly, so here's a link to the website, lots of good info on all his products, he(GGhaggis on the forum) makes various things for the later Land Rovers, height rods are just one of many, they are a great cheaper alternitive to LLAMS.

LLAMS is an electronic air suspension height controller.
