And i thought the current Grand Cherokee was fugly, that thing takes the biscuit - soggy one at that.

At first look, I labelled it as 'uglier than a Toyota ruckus'
But now I'm not too sure

Google the 'easter eggs' they designed into this car. It's... interesting.

The Trail hawk model is the 4x4 model with bigger engine, more lift, and a few other features... but from what I'm reading is sitting at a tricky price point at the mid $30K mark.

Looks like the sort of thing a hipster would buy to go offroading ironically.
Kill it with fire.

Hence the spider pic on the fuel cap saying "Ciao Baby!"

Apparently that's the market it's aimed at, so the marketing people have done well for you to recognise that Muppet. :D

I Had A 1978 Jeep Renegade. Bloody thing almost broke me with it's 9 or 10 MPG. but I loved the look of it.+ it was a really unstoppable 4X4
No way I would even ride in this new ugly thing.( I'm trying to be polite here.)

They haven't been released yet, not until October. You are mistaking it for the Patriot which is ugly as well. I think a car you can drive into a wall without ruining its looks has a certain merit...

Here's the Trail Hawk model on an offroad course designed by Land Rover... in Canada

Bugga will have to open tother eye

But I dont look close cause they dont

Meet the criteria or merit a wave

And I have noticed lately there are

Lots and lots of 4wd thingys with

Land Rover badges on em pretending

To be real Land Rovers

Oh go away.
Can we just have a thread where we mercilessly rag on OTHER makes of 4WD before we start infighting as well?

Wow.... that's an embarrassment to Jeep.....

Jeep have just bought back a Grand Cherokee for $60k from a customer that had the steering lock for no reason while driving at 100kph. He must have been driving like he stole it and the car computer went into protection mode. Or....it's a crap car?

Toxic_Avenger

If you wanted a small 'city car' that could attempt mild off road duties, this would do the trick.
If you got your jollies from a vehicle which has some pedigree (don't we all?), then doubly so.

It's a radical design, no doubt. I'd even go as far as saying it's growing on me (albeit just a little). I guess it's a tricky space to sell a car in though... probably a similar market segment to where the Freelander (1) used to sit? not quite 4x4, not quite road car, but struggling to find the happy space between.

This i would buy, only if they finish the roof rack - bit useless with half an arse.

Think it's channeling a.......

Defender 110 ! :D

Or could be the spiritual successor to my late and much loved first car, a '74 CJ6.

The cost of that would be passenger space.

How is a complete floor in roof rack impeding passenger space ?

Just going to leave this here.

Jeepers are starting to look more like landy nuts!
They have the wave, and an unquenchable desire to modify their vehicles as soon as they get them.

PS need to get me a donut tree at home.

The Jeep wave was around when I was a little tacker in the seventies. ;)

Actually, when travelling it was pretty much a 4WD wave, 4WD's travelling the country were pretty rare then, but other Jeeps got the fully fledged wave.

Wow Bob, did you have that one saved up in the copypasta bank just for this occasion? :p

The ACCC review is not new news. But can we just look at the bright (or not so bright) side of this cheerful little jeep?

I must admit they're growing on me. But I have a thing for cute little 4x4's- irrespective of the badge.

To go against the trend here - I actually quite like it. I like the round headlights and to me it's a neat looking little car.

I always laugh when LR nuts question other makes' reliability seeing as landies never break down :D

beauty must be in the eye of the beholder cause it looks bloody terrible to me ;)

as for the reliability thing, only once in 20+ years has a land rover not got me home

i can live with that....

the old ones are :D. I knew someone who had one, parts sourcing was an issue, but it was good on the beach.

Not too many left now as rust was a major issue. Probably from all the beach use...

Even harder to find an original un-molested one.

The Fiat version appears to be a little more off road capable than the Jeep. https://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/imported/2015/12/694.jpg
