ABS Warning Light

Hi all, I think these posts http://www.aulro.com/afvb/p38a-range-rover/183653-abs-booster-modulator-replaced-successfully.html will lead me in the right direction but just in case someone else has another idea, here is my problem. Shortly after ignition is turned to pos 2, ABS Fault comes up on message centre. This is before the car has even moved. I've tested all wheel sensors for continuity and all are ok. LR mechanic plugged in diagnostic unit (autologic I think) and cleared fault which was NO SIGNAL. it didn't say from where but naturally came back as soon as it was unplugged. Not sure weather it's a modulator issue, BeCM or Wabco computer issue.
Any input would be greatly appreciated. (RR P38 GEMS)

Your ABS light should remain on until the car is in a forward motion over around 8kph. This is part of the self testing procedure.

The fact it's saying "ABS Fault" on the dash tells me more is wrong, and coming up early in the piece, I'd look at relays and fuses first.

Take it from there as they are simple to replace.

If that fails I'd be looking at the ABS pump and moving on from that.

I had the same thing with mine, abs fault coming on when the ignition was turned on before the engine was even started, obviously the abs light stayed on when moving.

Mechanic hooked it up and there was an open circuit on one of the wheel sensors

Changed the sensor and it's been perfect ever since.

Just an aside, I couldn't get a direct replacement for the rear drivers side, I simply cut the wires and soldered the extra length I needed into the line, and it works just fine.
