What is the current advice about service in Perth?
My Disco3 MY07 is going to be due for a 212k service while I am in Perth. The transmission is not due for service.
:)All my services have been at MLR in Port Melbourne with complete satisfaction.

There are two official dealers in Perth:
Barbagellos and Southern Landrover.. both owned by Barbagellos so no competition (I discovered this when I tried to deal for a new D4)
I have not had mine serviced yet but will go to the dealer I bought it from in Albany. When it's out of warranty as yours is I will probably give the dealers the flick.
There are several independent ones in Perth.
Jordan Rover-Tech
            Unit 4/36-40 John Street
            BENTLEY WA 6102
Mechanics-Perth and UK Autocare
3/38 Prindiville Drive
Wangara
Western Australia
6065
Australia
Pendragon Rover
Unit1/6 Finance Place
MALAGA
WA, 6090
Lifestyle 4WD
4 Barnet Court
Morley
WA, 6062
To name a few. There are heaps.. maybe someone on this site can actually recommend one for servicing.

Like Boggs I am currently using the dealer on my car in warranty but I had many happy years using Jordan Rovertech for the Defender. I know they have all the bits to do D3's and I have seen them in there, with body off work being done.
Having said that. This same question was asked a few weeks ago by someone else in the same boat as you. He ended up using the dealer, Southern Land Rover and took the time to write back and say how pleased he was, with the service and the price.
I'm using Southern because of new car warranty and a service deal but I'm happy with them so far and feel they deserve a go after the freebies wear off. So I'll stay with them and monitor wallet ache.

Mate of mine brings his defender down from Port Hedland to Southern Landrover to get serviced, has done since he bought it 7 years ago. Havent heard any complaints from him about them, havent used them myself but they seem to be pretty well regarded.

I get mine done at Rovertech and I've been very happy. Also had recall work done at Southerns and have also been happy. Interestingly I got price from both to fit D4 LCAs. Southerns were $50 cheaper.

Thanx all. Things look good.
It can be hard to tell. On the way to Cape York I needed repairs in Cairns. Someone had made a deprecating comment about Trinity but I found them exceptional!
I wonder if the independents have access to the service history held by Land Rover.
Most of my replaceable bits have been replaced by the updated parts by now so I'm hoping all will be well and that my 14km trip with 2 tonne caravan will be uneventful......

I use Tickles Discovery Automotive in Wangara.
Have had all three land rovers serviced there over the last 15 years. They even built me a 4.6 v8. Very knowledgeable and don't just just replace parts for the sake of it. Very happy with them and they're a family run business.
